LS Cable & System (President & CEO Roe-hyun Myung) announced on June 1 that the company is the first in Korea to launch a cable recommendation app, which it has named Connect LS. 

This app allows users to conveniently find the most appropriate cables for their environment.

The complex process of calculating the allowable current in consideration of several conditions while looking at cable specifications will be replaced by a few simple touches.

There are hundreds of different types of cables that are used at various construction and industrial sites, including transmission networks. If a user selects various conditions, such as the number, length, voltage, arrangement, depth and ambient temperature of cables, Connect LS will recommend the most suitable cable.

The company believes that this app will be especially useful at small construction sites where there is no professional engineer. It is important to keep in mind that selection of an incorrect cable may cause a serious accident such as a short circuit and fire. 

LS C&S is planning to use the customer data, collected through Connect LS, as big data, and provide customized services. Soon the company will also enable online purchase of cables.

The app comes in three versions, i.e. EHV/HV, MV/LV and Busducts, and anyone can download it from Google Play and the App Store.
