LS Cable & System announced on the 1st that it won the Supply Chain Advancement Award at North America's largest offshore wind power and renewable energy conference, International Partnering Forum (IPF) 2025, held in Chesapeake, Virginia, USA. LS Cable & System is the first Korean company to win this award.

The award is presented to a company that has contributed to building and expanding the supply chain for the U.S. offshore wind power industry, and LS Cable & System was recognized for its technological prowess in the field of submarine cables as well as its achievements in strengthening its production base and expanding strategic partnerships in the U.S. The award ceremony took place during the official gala event held on the evening of the conference's opening day.

On the morning of the same day, CEO Koo Bon-kyu was invited to be the first Korean keynote speaker at the opening ceremony of IPF 2025. He emphasized the long-term growth potential of the offshore wind industry and the strategic importance of the energy transition, and suggested directions for the sustainable growth of the industry.

“It is difficult to make correct judgments about the offshore wind power industry with a short-sighted perspective,” said Koo Bon-kyu, CEO of LS Cable & System. “LS Cable & System believes that this industry will continue for more than 30, or even 50 years, and has decided that now is the right time to enter and invest.”

He also emphasized, “We have decided to make a major investment in Virginia, USA, based on our conviction that this industry will follow a clear growth trajectory in the long term, despite short-term market volatility.”
